Description:

Diagnostic SPN for the actuator controlling the engine turbocharger turbine bypass valve. In a single turbocharger configuration, « bypass » and « wastegate » refer to the same function and SPN 5421 should be used. In a configuration where there is more than one turbocharger, it is possible to bypass the first turbocharger without functioning as a wastegate, and SPN 5401 would refer to the bypass valve.
