Description:

Indicates the transmission response to a Neutral request from SPN 7695 [Transmission Auto-Neutral (Manual Return) Request] or other vehicle input configured for Auto-Neutral (Manual Return) functionality. The applicability of the states and state transitions depend on transmission manufacturer options and implementation (e.g. function entry and exit criteria) of the Auto-Neutral (Manual Return) function.Note: While SPN 523 ETC2 Transmission Current Gear can be used to determine if the transmission has attained a Neutral state; SPN 7696 indicates if that Neutral state resulted from SPN 7695 or another input configured for this functionality. 000b = No request received; conditions are such that an Auto-Neutral request would be honored. 001b = No request received; conditions are such that an Auto-Neutral request would NOT be honored. 010b = Auto-Neutral request received; shift to Auto-Neutral state is pending. 011b = Auto-Neutral request received; shift to Auto-Neutral state has been achi
