Engine Start Control Message Rate

Description:

This signal is sent by the arbitrator to control the rate at which other participants send the Engine Start Control Message (ENGSC). The arbitrator sets this signal to the slower rate after the first engine start attempt after initial power-up is completed (either successful or not). After the initial start attempt the arbitrator returns to the faster rate from the time it latches another start request to the time this request is completed (successful or not).Senders of the ENGSC message shall broadcast at a rate of once every 20 ms when this signal is not available from the arbitrator, for example during initial system initialization. When this signal is available, senders shall follow the rate instructed by the arbitrator unless the sending device has a need to broadcast at the 20 ms rate, which it may do. 00b = Once every 20 ms 01b = Once every 250 ms or on change but no faster than 20 ms 10b = Reserved 11b = Not available
