Engine Default Idle Torque Limit

Description:

Companion parameter to « Transmission Communications Failure Idle Torque Limit » (SPN 7827). This « echo » parameter provides confirmation to the transmission that the engine has received and will invoke the requested SPN 7827 « Transmission Communications Failure Idle Torque Limit » in the event that CAN communication is lost between the two devices.The data is transmitted in indicated torque as a percent of reference engine torque (see the engine configuration message, PGN 65251). The percent torque value will not be less than zero and it includes the torque developed in the cylinders required to overcome friction. Please note that the « Engine Default Idle Torque Limit » only applies to the Engine’s idle governor. It does not alter the engine’s torque map. Full accelerator torque and other similar torque requests are still allowed to access the full torque map.
