7931 SPN Fault Code

Name:

SLI Battery Pack 1 Sensor 4 Initialization Status

Description:

The battery sensor may go through an initialization process when it is first connected to a battery. This parameter reports the battery sensor’s progress through the initialization process.0 = Initialization process has not started. 1 to 9 = Initialization process is in progress. 1 represents the beginning of the process and 9 represents the initialization process is almost complete. 10 = Initialization process is complete. The initialization process is determined by the manufacturer. This parameter is never expected to change to a lower value as long as the sensor remains connected to the battery. If the sensor is disconnected from the battery, then the battery sensor’s initialization process may be restarted once the sensor is reconnected to the battery. Manufacturers may not support all 11 steps. For example, one manufacturer may support 0, 1, & 10. Another may support 0, 2, 6, 10. Note: SPNs 7927, 7929, or 7930 may be equal to FBh while this parameter is less than 10.
