Description:

This parameter indicates the source address of the device whose SPN 525 [Transmission Requested Gear] request is currently being acted upon by the transmission. If transmission response to a device�s SPN 525 request is pending, that device�s source address should be reflected here, even though the pending request may or may not be achieved immediately due to operating conditions. If the transmission does not intend to honor a device�s SPN 525 request, this parameter should not reflect that device�s source address.This parameter is applicable to specific (e.g. �4�) SPN 525 requests, relative (e.g. �Downshift One Gear�) SPN 525 requests, and other parameter specific indicators defined in SPN 525. For example, if a device has requested the transmission to �downshift one gear�, and that shift is pending or the downshift target gear is being actively maintained, this parameter should reflect that device�s source address.
