This parameter conveys the reason a device wants the engine running. This SPN is intended to be used in conjunction with Desired Engine Fueling State (SPN 5793). When a device sends Desired Engine Fueling State = � Fueling Desired � either alone or in combination with Engine Start Request = � Start requested, automatic type �, then SPN 7789 may be used to convey a reason for why the device desires the engine to run.
