Description:

Hybrid Propulsion Mode Request is the operator intended propulsion mode. This parameter can be from only one source on the vehicle. Response to this request can be found in the Hybrid Propulsion Mode Status (SPN 7896) and Hybrid Propulsion Mode Transition Status (SPN 7897) parameters. In the case of a Diesel-Electric Hybrid, the source of this parameter may be a vehicle controller that monitors the operator interface for commands. Vehicle Performance may be reduced using Performance Bias Selection (SPN 6874) in any of these modes.Stored Energy Source Sustaining: In this mode, normal hybrid operation is desired. This state is characterized by the Stored Energy Source being online. In a Diesel-Electric hybrid, this operating mode is characterized as HVES charge sustaining where the energy for the vehicle is supplied by the combination of engine and HVES.
