Peterbilt 357 6896 SPN Fault Code

Name:

Engine Fueling Inhibit Request Count

Description:

A signal issued by the engine control system indicating the number of devices from which the engine control system has received a « fueling not desired » request. Requests included in this count are either from an external device via SPN 5793 Desired Engine Fueling State equal to « 00b – Fueling not desired » or from internal logic within the engine control system acting similar to an external request.Multiple engine internal requests are counted as a single device (the engine control system itself). Internal requests reflected in this parameter are limited to those with the intent of temporarily suspending engine operation. Permanent shutdown intent, for example from the key switch or engine protection logic, is not reflected in this signal. Operating states where the engine control system suspends fueling without the intent for temporary shutdown (i.e. motoring above minimum idle speed) are also not reflected in this signal. 0000b to 1010b = Number of active fueling inhibit requests
