Western Star 4700 6807 SPN Fault Code

Name:

Engine Desired Torque Request

Description:

This is the torque that the ECM desires to provide. It is a request made from the ECM to an external system. A valid value within the operating range indicates the engine is requesting an external controller to change the operation of the system so the engine can achieve a specific torque. This will most likely be accomplished by managing the load to the engine, but it is not limited to this method. A value of FBh indicates that the parameter is supported but there is no specific torque being requested by the engine. This parameter is in indicated torque as a percent of the reference engine torque. See PGN 65251 for the engine configuration message. Any change in torque as a result of this parameter would be reflected in SPN 513. In the event that an ECM transmits a valid value within the operating range for this parameter and a non-zero value for SPN 3644 at the same time, then the receiving controller should honor SPN 3644 and ignore this parameter.
