Western Star 4700SB 7094 SPN Fault Code

Name:

Engine Cylinder Head Bypass Actuator 1 Command

Description:

Command to cylinder head bypass actuator 1, normalized to percent, where 0% nominally represents fully closed (No Flow) and 100% represents fully open (Max Flow). The purpose of the cylinder bypass valve is to release the air at the high pressure compressor outlet into turbocharger turbine inlet when intake pressure exceeds exhaust pressure at lower engine speeds and thereby controlling compressure surge.FB00h – FB64h is sent to calibrate to a specific position. The LSB specifies the position with a resolution of 1%/bit (eg, FB32h is sent to calibrate the actuator to 50%). FBFFh is sent to calibrate the actuator using its own algorithm. Calibration status from the actuator is received on SPN 7093.
