6846 SPN Fault Code

Name:

Display Remain Powered

Description:

Indicates the ECU needs the display (i.e. monitor device) to continue to remain powered after ignition key off. An ECU would use this when the ECU needs the display to remain powered after key off so the ECU can communicate to the operator while the ECU is performing certain activities after key off, such as an aftertreatment regeneration.Functionally, the display would remain powered after key off if it receives the ‘Remain Powered’ status prior to the key off event and would continue to remain powered after key off while it continues to receive this parameter with the ‘Remain Powered’ status or it stops receiving this parameter from the ECU. The ‘Remain Powered’ state indicates the ECU needs the monitor to remain powered after key off. The ‘OK to Shutoff’ state indicates the ECU does not need the monitor to stay powered after key off. 00b = OK to Shutoff 01b = Remain Powered 10b = Reserved 11b = Don’t care
