7579 SPN Fault Code

Name:

Elevated Engine Speed Allowed Switch

Description:

Indicates the state of a switch to indicate the control system is permitted to automatically elevate the engine speed as needed for strategies such as cold mode, aftertreatment regeneration, etc. This is not a direct command to increase the engine speed but rather an acknowledgement by the operator that the speed could be increased automatically, such as in response to an indication to the operator from SPN 7502. However, SPN 7502 is not the only method that could request this behavior. Therefore, SPN 7502 is not required in order to use this SPN.00b = Not allowed to elevate engine speed 01b = Allowed to elevate engine speed 10b = Error 11b = Not Available
