Description:

External Energy Source Connection Demand indicates how the hybrid system should engage with the external energy source that is temporarily connected to the vehicle.This parameter allows for two external energy source connections. Propulsion may or may not be allowed as defined by the Operator Vehicle Mode Request (SPN 7888). The state of the engine (fuel cell etc.) is dictated by the Hybrid Propulsion Mode Request (SPN 7889). This parameter can be from only one source. In the case of a Diesel-Electric Hybrid, the source of this parameter may be a vehicle controller or the connected charger. Status of the connection can be found in the External Energy Source Connection Status (SPN 7898) parameter. Perform Connection Verification is requested to connect and ensure a proper connection between an external energy source and the onboard stored energy source. If the connection is not verified, the External Energy Source Connection Status (SPN 7898) will indicate state 1 Connection – Error (Ve
